Skype for Blackberry

If you are tired of waiting for Skype to hit the Blackberry then wait no longer. Well, kind of. A beta version of the desktop installation files have been leaked for the Blackberry Storm. Now don’t all rush out and download it since it is still in Beta and includes many flaws and bugs that could give your precious Blackberry some serious problems. If you are adventurous and need the latest apps than by all means grab it and go. Just be warned. The good news for the rest of us is that with a beta being leaked the real release can’t be too far off. Stay tuned for more on this.

Evernote comes to Blackberry Curve

The popular Blackberry app, Evernote is finally available for the Blackberry Curve 83xx series. Previously the Evernote app was only available for Blackberries running OS 4.6 and higher like the BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Curve 8900 series and BlackBerry Storm. Now it has been released for the Curve 83xx series too and it will still be available for free which is nice. So there is no excuse not to have this killer app on your Blackberry no matter which version you own. Head over to Evernote.com to download your copy.

New Facebook for Blackberry ready this week

A new Facebook for the Blackberry is ready this week says Ronen at BerryReview. Research in Motion is to launch Facebook 1.6 sometime this week. New features that are supposed to be in the update include a feed of your friends status updates and highlights. You will be able to view and comment on those updates. You will also be able to interact with profiles, wall content and photos too. Also the new Facebook application will offer additional language support. Lets hope that the app launches on time and not get pushed back like other Blackberry updates.

Quicklaunch version 2.0 ready for Blackberry Storm

NikkiSoft has developed its next version of Quicklaunch. Version 2.0 of the popular Blackberry Storm application is ready and it includes a screen capture utility, current temperatures and a simpler menu re-configuration. The Blackberry Storm is not the only phone to get the new Quicklaunch 2.0 as it will be available for devices on S 4.5 and greater. QuickLaunch 2.0 costs $4.99 to purchase new, $1.99 if purchased before April1, and free if since April 1. Make sure to delete the old version before installing the new one.
